Athaxia is a rock band from Puerto Rico formed in January 2004, governed by the neo-classical metal, following the transcendental Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. Athaxia that summer gave the first signs of what is the beginning of a new era in Puerto Rican music. In 2005 members Ra and Java John withdrew from the band giving way to Gadiel Soto, JC August, on guitars and Bertita Roman on drums. Also earlier this year, released their first production, reaching to put on "Disguise Power" in the Alfa radio station Rock and rock in various programs such as the scene (X) and Alternative Frequencies (University Radio) . This album quickly stood between a crowd favorite local metal, becoming for several months among the best sellers of its kind on the island the same way, they recorded the song "No Mercy" which is included in several compilations of bands both local and international. In April Athaxia was invited to play with Argentina's renowned guitarist Carina Alfie, who has played with legends such as Steve Vai (David Lee Roth Band) and Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big). In May took part in the first edition of the concert series Rocksessions @ Hard Rock Cafe, sharing the stage with bands like Tavua and Black: Guayaba. In August were invited to play at the Rock Never Stop, at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, with Cinderella, Quiet Riot, Ratt and Firehouse. Athaxia also attended the concert series All We Rock, a Hard Rock Café initiative to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. Athaxia began in 2006 amid a small "vacation" that the band took to write material for his next album. In March they returned to the stage, appearing in Sopranos Café to their fans. In April the band was nominated for Best Heavy Metal Disco in Ixa Awards and participated as opening act for the group Hell's Angels, the Tito Puente Amphitheater, receiving rave reviews from the public, the press and the angels. During this concert, Ian achieved one of his dreams, the angels sing a duet with the song "Outlaw." During the summer Athaxia participated in several tours as the Fragment Of Faith Tour and returned to the Hard Rock Café to participate in the Rocksessions @ Hard Rock Cafe. To close the 2006 Athaxia had a successful presentation as support band of the Spanish group Mägo de Oz in October and November were part of the Boricua Metal Festival III. In 2007, participated in the compilation Athaxia Puerto Rock Vol 1 also has been present in every corner of the island and being part of Rocksessions @ Hard Rock Cafe for the third year run and be part of the event Rock Together 2. In June, they began recording their new album titled The End of Innocence. The same was produced by Orlando Mendez, guitarist Mitchell Circus and Morales, drummer for Cherry Clan. The same was mastered at Studios La Nave de Oseberg, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In June 2008, participating for the fourth time in the series of concerts Rocksessions @ Hard Rock Café and take part in compiling the magazine Boom made for the LAMC (Latin Alternative Music Conference). In November, they are invited back to share the stage with the Spanish group, Wizard of Oz, but this time at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan. In January 2009, are invited to share stage, this time with Joey Belladonna, former vocalist of the legendary band Anthrax. In April we launched the End of Innocence, to full house at the Hard Rock Cafe, San Juan. The same was presented to packed house at the Hard Rock Café in April 2009. The end of innocence, received excellent reviews in various specialized areas of countries like Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Germany, France and Japan. During that summer, Athaxia participate in the second edition of Indie Rock Fest in Aguadilla. Her song "The Edge of Reason" was selected by legendary Puerto Rican wrestling company WWC, as a matter of entry into one of their top fighters, Orlando Colon.
